THIS IS THE FIRST REVIEW I'VE EVER WRITTEN. SORRY TO SAY MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS $8,000 FRIDGE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. WE'VE BEEN WITHOUT A FRIDGE EXCEPT FOR A DORMITORY FRIDGE FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS. I READ OTHER REVIEWS THAT EXPRESS MY SAME PROBLEM. ---THE CONTROL BOARD---WENT BAD. PROBLEM IS THAT THE SAME CONTROL BOARD IS NOT BUILT ANY MORE. WE EVEN FOUND A COMPANY THAT WOULD REBUILD IT AND THEY DID. THE NEXT PROBLEM WAS THE CONTROL MODULE FOR THE COMPRESSOR. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THAT COMPONENT IS NOT BUILT ANY MORE. SO AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I'M LEFT WITH AN $8,000 FRIDGE WITH NO ACCESS TO PARTS. TO ME THAT IS INEXCUSABLE!!!

Great Refrigerator

We have had this refrigerator for 12 years now with little trouble. Only complaint we have is that in humid warm weather, the freezer door gets a lot of condensation around the edges and pools up on the floor. There is no way to turn on any heat strips as there is in many lesser refrigerators, so this is disappointing.

Two thumbs down!!!

We bought a KSSC48FTS 4 years ago for our new home. We were very happy with our decision. On Wednesday 8/18/2015, the refrigerator stopped working. The service tech came out to see what was wrong - it was the main control board. When he went to order the main control board it showed that the part was discontinued and no longer available. I checked with another parts company. Sure enough the main board for our model and year manufactured is no longer available. They had none in stock. On Friday, we were told that the refrigerator cannot be repaired and that we would get 75% of the purchase price of the replacement product per the extended service plan (ESP). The ESP settlement is not 75% of the purchase price of the replacement product - it is 72.44% of the cost of a new Kitchenaid refrigerator $8,799. We have decided not to buy a new Kitchenaid refrigerator. Instead we're buying a Subzero - the one that I wanted to go with originally.

Love This Refrigerator Freezer!
